The European project (funded by the Erasmus+ program) got off to a flying start with an information and entertainment booth at the Marseillan Youth Festival. The goal was to explain the project to young people and to present action plans and tools.

The results were positive: two permanent members signed up, and a replacement team joined the ranks of the ECOGUARDIANS. They will be supported and guided in the Thau Basin by experts and will also collaborate with their counterparts in Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and Oulun kaupunki – City of Oulu in Finland.

A presentation and youth recruitment day was held on June 14 during the Marseillan Youth Festival. Throughout the day, around 22 participants took part in the activities, including six who joined a special workshop on the underwater biodiversity of the Thau Lagoon. The session featured a screening of “Live from Under the Sea” and a photo exhibition from the Sustainable Mediterranean Cruise project — coordinated by CPIE and Regards du Vivant for the Interregional Directorate of the Mediterranean Sea. The event was hosted by The Lost Compass and also introduced participants to citizen science initiatives open to everyone.
