On March 19th and 20th, Hack’à Thau took place at the Maison des Projets in Frontignan, FRANCE. This two-day event brought together around twenty young people, environmental experts, and local stakeholders. The goal was to give young people from the region the opportunity to better understand the ecological challenges and threats facing the Thau Basin, and to become active participants in the ecological transition by developing youth-led solutions.

At the end of the two days, five projects covering five different themes were presented. They were evaluated by a jury and won the following prizes:

  • The People’s Choice Award was given to the fire prevention project for the tourist season.
  • The Originality Award was given to the group that presented “Global Nocturnal Positioning,” a project focused on reducing the risk of collisions with nocturnal wildlife.
  • The Innovation Prize was awarded to the group that worked on the issue of rising sea levels for their proposal to create an interactive exhibition.
  • The Analysis Prize was awarded to the group that worked on seagrass meadows.
  • The Inspiration Prize was awarded to the group that proposed a project for plant-based market halls, a model space to promote nature in the city.

The CPIE Littoral d’Occitanie will showcase these projects at the “Escale à Sète” event starting April 1st. Come and discover these initiatives!
A big thank you to our partners, to the experts for their support, and especially to the participants for their dedication and commitment!
